Dr. Stephen P. Hundley is a tenured associate professor of organizational
leadership in the Purdue School of Engineering and Technology at Indiana
University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), an urban public research
university with nearly 30,000 students. At IUPUI, he teaches courses in
human resources (HR), leadership development, and organizational research.
Prior to joining IUPUI, Dr. Hundley held HR positions in hospitality management,
financial services, and consulting.
Dr. Hundley has addressed audiences in Austria, Canada, England, France,
Germany, Hungary, Italy, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Switzerland, and throughout
the United States on issues relating to higher education, organizational
effectiveness, and HR management. He has authored or co-authored several
articles, papers, technical reports, chapters, and books, including a
forthcoming text on employee engagement from Prentice-Hall.
Dr. Hundley actively consults with a number of organizations on their
HR planning and leadership development matters. He presents workshops,
courses, training programs, and other learning solutions for executive,
technical, managerial, professional, and individual contributor employees
in a number of industries. Additionally, Dr. Hundley has served as a principal
facilitator for the American Society for Training and Development’s
Human Performance Improvement in the Workplace Professional Certification
Program.
Since 1999, Dr. Hundley has held a visiting professorship at the Berufsakademie
in Mannheim, Germany, where he teaches in their international business
administration program. He is co-director of an international, interdisciplinary
teaching and research initiative entitled The GO GREEN Project (Green
Organizations: Global Responsibility
for Economic and Environmental Necessity),
which examines economic, social, and environmental stewardship in organizational
settings.
Dr. Hundley holds a Ph.D. in organization development from American University
in Washington, D.C., as well as the Senior Professional in Human Resources
(SPHR) designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. Finally,
he has been widely and consistently recognized for his work by receiving
teaching, publication, and service awards, grants, and fellowships from
several organizations.
